Pictures from the 2009 show can be found in our photo gallery.Ice Show 2010 "Return to the 70's!"Updated Ice Show Info - March 9, 2010 Canskate Costume Information Here is a list of what you will need for show day to wear with your costume. The ice surface we are using is much warmer than the ice we practice on so costumes will not be too heavy for the show. The kids should wear their jackets over their costumes while sitting in the stands and then we can remove them prior to their skate. I will be continuing to hand out costumes during your skating sessions. Unfortunately there is only one Saturday session Mar 20 before the show. If for some reason you do not pick up your costume from me I have extra costumes and will have them available on the day of the show. Please purchase your tickets from me as well. They will be available at the door but you don't want to be in line and miss getting a great seat or miss your child's performance. I am still needing a few parents (1) per group to sit in the stands with the skaters before they do their number. They will also aid in getting the kids organised in the dressing room as they go out to sit down. These volunteers will receive a free ticket for the show. Each half of the show is approx 1 Hr and 15 mins. Skaters in the first half should be ready in their dressing room no later than 12:40. Parents should get the skates on and then go upstairs through the main door to show your ticket and pickup a program. Children may then be picked up in the dressing room after they skate. If in the second half, please have your child ready in the drsg room before the intermission. Intermission will be brief- just 10 mins for the flood. All skaters are welcome to come back on the ice for the finale. Please note that ALL COSTUMES MUST BE LEFT IN THE DRESSING ROOM after the show... Any questions just let me know! It is going to be a fun afternoon for you and your skater! If you don't know what song your skater is doing or if you want to volunteer please send me an email. Stacie Soontiens CCSC Ice Show Chair ________________________________________________________________ Ice Show Practices have begun! Skaters should attend their sessions as to not miss any practices. Figure Skaters: If the coach of your number is holding a practice on a day you do not normally skate- if possible try to attend this extra session. The coaches will try and let you know ahead of time when they plan to have practices. Have fun! Stacie Soontiens CCSC Ice Show Chair ________________________________________________________________ It is time to start planning for our annual ice show which will take place Saturday, March 27th at Willie O'Ree Place. It will be a chance for all of our skaters to show off their talents to family and friends! Everyone is encouraged to participate and in order to help us prepare costumes we are asking those skaters who will be participating in the show to please sign up. Forms are being distributed regarding this and if they could be returned asap to your child's coach it would be much appreciated. There is no fee to participate but it is an event with paid admission, therefore we are asking each family to purchase a minimum of two (2) tickets at the cost of $10 each. Tickets will be made available in early March. Tickets will also be available at the door for sale to the general public. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and all profits go directly back to skating programs for your children. Thank you in advance for your support!! You may also indicate on your form if you wish to volunteer in any area to help out with the ice show production. Practices for the show generally begin 4-6 weeks prior to the show and will take place on your child's regular session. They will still be actively learning skills during this time. I would encourage all skaters to participate as it is a very fun and memorable event. Looking forward to putting on a terrific show! Thank-you!
